Steps House
The Steps House, a renovation and expansion of a 1960s single-family home in Amman, Jordan, was redesigned for a family with a chef and food artist wife, a home-working business coach husband, and their two children.
Aiming to modernize the building, it features an internal staircase connecting two floors on a slope, creating an open, multipurpose “North Room” ideal for socializing and workshops. The project also introduced a “South Room,” enhancing light intake and connecting the house from north to south. With reused stone walls and steel beam reinforcement, a third floor was added for its views of Amman, incorporating a reflective metal roof to increase indoor light. This blur indoor-outdoor boundaries, aiming for a forward-looking home.
